Gerri Dandridge ( born Countess Elizabeth Báthory) is the primary antagonist of Fright Night 2 New Blood.
History[]
Countess Elizabeth Báthory de Ecsed(Hungarian: Báthory Erzsébet) was born on August 7, 1560 to the powerful Hungarian Báthory family. As a daughter of one of the wealthiest and most influential noble houses in the Kingdom of Hungary, Elizabeth was raised in luxury and given an education. In her early years, her pedigree, as well as her notable beauty, drew a host of enviable suitors, and at the age of 15, she was married to Ferenc Nádasdy, a famous Hungarian nobleman and general. Years later, while her husband was away on campaign against the Ottomans, bloody rumors began spreading at home about his beautiful young bride, but her family's influence shielded her from any accusations.
It was on a cold winter night that the countess' fateful encounter took place. She was being escorted by carriage back to her home, the Castle of Csejte, when she heard a commotion outside. She stepped out to find her guards slaughtered and a feral, humanoid creature feeding on their corpses. The creature pounced on her and drained her of blood, but fled before the sun rose. Báthory's cold, yet somehow still-moving, body was brought back to Csejte, where Nádasdy was horrified to learn that his wife was no longer a living woman, but an undead creature of the night. Though he despised the monster his wife had become, Ferenc could not bring himself to destroy her, and she was released to roam the land as a beast preying on the blood of the innocent. Over the centuries, Báthory sustained herself with the blood of thousands, especially preferring young men and the occasional maiden who took her fancy. By the twenty-first century, she had relocated to Romania and taken the alias of Gerri Dandridge, a professor of European Art.
Longing for the warmth of the sun, the vampiress would spend centuries searching for a "New Moon Virgin" whose blood would allow her to return to the sunlight.
Fright Night 2: New Blood[]

Gerri was seen in Fright Night 2, as a professor of European Art. While looking out his window, college student Charley Brewster witnessed "Gerri" seduce and then feed upon a woman in her apartment. When Brewster, Evil Ed Bates and Amy Peterson attended their first class on European Art, Ed and the other male students were delighted to meet their attractive visiting professor. However, Charley was shocked to discover that he recognizes her from the night before. Later, during a tour of a local castle, Charley caught her pleasuring a student in one of the hallways. She noticed Charley and mouthed his name before returning her attention to the student. Charley turned to call for Ed, but when he turned back, Gerri and her prey had vanished.

When Charley started having nightmares about Gerri, he decided to break into her apartment when she left to rid herself of a body. Once inside, Charley then gets trapped in Gerri's apartment when an aged Gerri returns home with a new female victim, under her influence. Gerri undresses the young woman with her shadow-manipulation abilities. She then proceeds to slit the girl's throat and hang the naked body over a sacrificial tub to collect the blood. She submerges herself in the girl's blood in order to restore her youthful form as a horrified Charley watches from her coffin. Charley attempted to record what he'd seen but the undead creature was invisible to his camera. Gerri then caught him in her coffin and taunted him seductively until Charley temporarily blinded her with the camera on his phone and sprang for the exit. Gerri made no attempt to pursue him and only smiled smugly.
After being hung up on by the police, Charley then goes to Amy, who finds Dandridge in her room; both of them having a chat. This leads to a confrontation when Charley holds a bible up to Gerri. She reacts with a smile, tells him off gently, and takes the bible from him, though Charley notices a burn mark from touching the holy object. Later on, Charley does some research on his findings and discovers Dandridge is in fact Elizabeth Bathory. After telling Evil, both boys go to seek Peter Vincent for his services; however he charges both boys a sum of $2000. Later on after hearing about the vampire, Vincent backs down, only to be brought back into it for $3000; however upon arriving in the subway, Gerri is aboard the on coming train and manages to scare Peter off. Now with Charley, Evil and Amy on board, Gerri confronts them; leading to a bloody struggle that ends with her getting a cross in the eye and turning Evil into a Vampire; while Amy and Charley stopped the train and escaped further down the tunnel. She later follows Amy and Charley in the old catacombs, then into an old church where a cross keeps Dandridge at bay; however she escapes back into the catacombs where she discovers after tasting Amy's blood on her claws, she is convinced that Amy is the "New Moon Virgin" she's been waiting for.

Later after reaching the surface, she stops the cab carrying Charley and Amy. She then abducts Amy and flies back to her castle, inviting Charley to come and join them. In the castle's catacombs, Gerri bathes in an enormous pool of blood while a hypnotized Amy watches helplessly from the edge. Gerri explains to her victim that Amy is the key ingredient for the Moonlight Ritual, but that she needs to kill Charley, a loved one, for the ceremony to actually work.
Charley arrives later on after meeting with Vincent once again and arms up for his encounter with Gerri; then heads for the castle where he encounters Ed and destroys him. This leads to a brief confrontation with Gerri; who locks him into the pool room with Amy; leading to her turning him into a Vampire. When Gerri returns, she tries to make Amy kill Charley, however Charley stakes himself in the heart to incapacitate Amy. Thinking that Amy and Charley are dead, Charley comes back a Vampire and he almost destroys Dandridge with a stake; however she catches it before it touches her and hurls Charley against a castle column.

She holds Charley as Amy attempts to stab Charley in order for Gerri to gain her ability to walk in daylight; however a stake is sent flying in the air from behind Gerri, running her through and sending her into the blood pool. Peter has arrived on the scene and was responsible for staking Gerri; however after bathing in the blood, Gerri comes back and confronts Vincent as Charley confronts Amy. Charley was then capable of utilizing a high-pitched sonic screech that shattered the glass windows, allowing the sun to pour in and dissolve Gerri's flesh, reducing her to a puddle of goo and destroying her for good.
Personality & Traits[]
Gerri appears as a beautiful young woman with auburn hair and a slim, shapely figure. Though she is certainly powerful enough to take prey through force, she seems to prefer using her charms, rather than her powers, to ensnare victims and enjoys playing with her food before eating. She is shown to be somewhat bisexual when it comes to her feeding and even made some sexual advances toward Charley when he was discovered hiding in her coffin. She has shown to be very secretive, as are most Vampires when disposing of their latest meals. She has also shown to be very seductive, both mentally and physically.
When threatened or enraged, Gerri could revert to her monstrous form, which reflected her true nature. Far from the alluring female form she usually took, this form was terrifying, bestial, and fiendish. It resembled a humanoid bat with pale skin and prominent fangs.
Powers & Abilities[]
In the film, Gerri is shown to be an immensely powerful being. She possess many of the same abilities as other vampires along with a few new capabilities that have never been seen before. Though she displayed a diverse range of powers and abilities, the full extent of her power remains unknown.
One power she lacked was the ability to walk in the daylight, and she planned to use Amy and Charley in order to obtain it; however she failed.
- Immortality - As a vampire, Gerri was undead - meaning she was, in truth, a reanimated corpse. This made her immune to aging and most other common ailments. To maintain her immortality, she not only drinks human blood, but also bathes in it. She usually appears as a 30-something year old woman in her prime; however if she neglects to bathe for long enough, she will temporary revert to the form of an old woman. Bathing in blood in fact restores her youthful appearance.
- Durability - Being already dead, Gerri was highly resistant to bodily damage; which was seen when she stood in the way of a moving vehicle, that crashed into her. She remained unharmed while the car was totaled. She even was able to sustain momentary contact with things she knows are harmful to her. This was seen when she took the bible from Charley's hands without giving any sign of pain; however when she waved at him before she left; Charley could see a red burn mark on her palm.
- Superhuman Strength - She was stronger than humans, able to single-handedly overpower them, even lifting them high off the ground by the throat and throwing them across long distances.
- Superhuman Speed - She could move several times faster than humans.
- Healing Factor - She healed from any wound in moments. Even when a cross has been stabbed into her eye, she is shown to heal incredibly fast. One of the weirdest powers that she is capable of is her ability to heal a person's wound after she bites them and she does this with her tongue. This was seen when she attacked Evil in the subway while chasing Amy and Charley.
- Blood Absorption - Her skin absorbed whatever blood touched it. This is also how she retains her youthful form; by bathing in blood.
- Flight - She could levitate and fly through the air. Based on the sounds made off-screen, she may have even had wings.
- Shapeshifting - Like all Vampires, Gerri possess a form that turns her into a 5ft tall pale, white, bat-like monster with a face that looks like a combination of an alien's large cranium and Voldemort with no external nose. As an advanced vampire, she may have had the power to assume other forms as well, though this is never shown.
- Echolocation - Gerri was shown to have the capability of echolocation just by chattering her teeth, this is when she has lost the trail of her victims and it works much like a bat's echolocation works in order to find food. She used this to pick up the lost trail of Charley and Amy while they escaped into the tunnels under the subway.
- Pyrokinesis - She displayed this skill when she lit the torches and candles in her lair.
- Hypnosis/ Mind control - Gerri was capable of mentally manipulating her victims, as shown with Amy and the female victim Charley witnessed her drain. Upon making eye contact, she could bend mortals to her will and hold them under her influence, even from a distance. She is shown putting her victims in a trance, which may leave them semiconscious but helpless under her power until released.
- Dream Manipulation - As seen with Charley, Gerri is able to manipulate people's dreams as she wished.
- Shadow Manipulation - She was able to affect objects and people through shadows, as shown with the female victim she drained.
- Seduction- Her natural beauty and sex appeal enabled her to attract victims of both sexes with ease. This was her preferred hunting tool, and she enjoyed playing with her food before biting.
- Infection- If the blood is not completely drained, Gerri, like all vampires, can transform humans into vampires with one bite.
Weaknesses[]
- Holy Objects- As a vampire, Gerri was an unholy entity and was repelled by Holy objects, such as crucifixes or Bibles. Coming into contact with them would cause her bodily damage.
- Sunlight- Like all vampires, Gerri was a nocturnal creature and the sun was lethal to her. Because of this, she spent most daylight hours asleep in her coffin. It was ultimately sunlight that ended her, causing her to melt into a puddle of goo.
- Staking- A stake through the heart would have destroyed Gerri, though Charley's attempt at this failed, as he missed her heart.
