Sunlight is extremely deadly to vampires and they have different effects depending on the amount of exposure and length. in the remake, sunlight kills vampires instantly.
Jerry (original) while burned by small exposures was knocked back and pinned to the wall by large ray of sunlight.
Regine was melted by a sun-beam reflected in the mirror.
Doris (remake) was killed instantly by the sunlight which "sawed" through her body, only her leg and arm which was not the sunlight was left.
